Transition year students are asking parents to give a helping hand in their Y.S.I project that focus’ on helping the homeless in the south east of Ireland which they have named the ‘Bare Necessities’. The TY1 group have already raised over 460 euro in a very successful cake sale which resulted in their picture being seen in the New Ross Standard.
Linked with the south east agencies of Focus Ireland and The Simon Community the group are now looking non-perishable goods such as clothes, food cans, cleaning products etc. to give to the shelters which cater for the less fortunate and people who are trying very hard to keep their current accommodations or moving to a less than satisfying new home.
We are asking parents to help the group by giving clothes of good quality and/or food cans to help the homeless in the south east. Any and all donations will be very much appreciated.
