Eoin Poweer (1)

Eoin Power, 5th year, completed a notable double last week when winning both the Senior boys 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles gold in the Leinster Schools Track and Field finals held in Santry. Eoin was winning the 110m event for the second year in succession and last year went on to represent Irish schools in the 5 nations championships in Scotland. A very dedicated competitor, Eoin’s ability is matched only by his modesty as he seeks no accolades for his achievements. We wish him the best of luck in the All Irelands – he has brought great pride to Good Counsel through his athletic endeavours over the past few years.

Also in the action in Santry, having won gold in the South Leinster finals were Joe Mooney, 2nd year and Aaron Fenlon, TY. Struggling with injury, Aaron managed a very creditable 4th in the Intermediate boys 400m while Joe added further glory to his South Leinster win by taking gold in the Junior boys 1200m walk. Joe goes on to join Eoin in the National finals in early June and we wish them both the best of luck. They are a great credit to their families and their clubs.
