Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
From To Autumn by John Keats.
The beautiful crisp autumnal weather of recent weeks has contributed in no small way to the apparent haste with which mid-term has arrived. Hopefully the week of mid-term will itself bring more pleasant conditions and staff and students alike will have a refreshing break.

Junior Certificate Business Higher Level is the only examination other than Irish, English & Mathematics which requires students to complete two papers. This point was noted when congratulating students who worked very hard to achieve a hard earned A grade. We now look towards the future and hope that our Businessmen of the Future will be among those bringing our economy back to its former glory.
Best wishes to 3rd year student, Ashwin Joseph who has been with us for over 2 years but who now leaves for Brisbane with his family to continue their lives ‘down under’. Anyone who taught Ashwin or had any contact with him here in Good Counsel will remember him as a most pleasant and courteous young man who always wore a smile. May he long continue to do so.
The senior hurling and rugby teams continued their championship preparations with friendlies against Castlecomer CS and Naas CBS respectively while the under 14 footballers had a game against Clonmel High School.
The Senior Golf team played their penultimate game in the Leinster League when making a winning visit to Carlow on Tuesday last. Well done to all involved.
