As we set out on the final term, a mere 5 weeks, it’s understandable to ask, as we do annually, ‘where has the year gone?’ For the exam students a brake on the passage of time would be welcome, for others it can’t hurtle quickly enough towards the glorious summer holidays. Hopefully the improved weather of recent weeks will continue, keeping everyone in good spirits in facing into whatever challenges lie ahead.
The year to date has been laden with the excitement of activity, the joy of achievement and with the sadness of the passing of parents and past pupils. Such is the life of a school community and while we celebrate the good times we remember, and share the burden with those who have suffered.
The annual 6th year Graduation Mass takes place on Sunday, May 11th in the school sports hall. Always a dignified and somewhat nostalgic service, the 6th year students are busy preparing for this year’s event.
Another popular annual event, ‘Good Counsel’s Got Talent!’ takes place in the school assembly hall on Thursday night, May 15th, at 7.30pm. Always a great night’s entertainment, with previous years’ acts including magicians, break dancers, rappers, traditional, folk and rock groups, all monies raised go to charity. Not to be missed!
