The U-16 hurlers, with class and courage, landed the U-16 Leinster ‘A’ hurling title on Wednesday before the mid term break. In a pulsating game ‘Counsel’ playing outstanding hurling went well clear of ttheir illustrious opponents, St Kieran’s College, only to be pegged back to level scores late on. However, showing tremendous character, the boys rallied to get the winning score and bring home the Fr John Cosgrave memorial cup. Well done to all involved and especially Mr Wall and Mr Purcell for the work done with the squad. (Full report in the ‘Featured News’ section below)
Over the mid term a group of 5th and 6th year Geography students undertook a trip to Italy to visit Mount Vesuvius and the site of Pompeii among other geographical features of interest before moving on to Rome. By all accounts it was a very pleasant and successsful tour and a great debt of thanks is owed to ms Byrne who put an enormous amount of time into organising and overseeing the event. Thanks also to those teachers who travelled with the party to assist.
