U-14 Captain, Dylan Carthy Walsh raises the Cup.
Pride of place in this week’s news must go to the U-14 Football team who landed the Leinster A title on Wednesday last beating St. Mels of Longford with a stunning second half performance. A full report on the game can be found in the sports news section of this website.
A large crowd of supporters travelled to the game in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise and were on hand to laud the heroes as the cup was presented to captain Dylan Carthy Walsh.
Many congratulations to all the squad and to their coaches, Kevin Kehoe and Leigh O’Brien with considerable help from Declan Wall and Greg Doyle also.

The mock Junior and Leaving Cert. exams finished up this week. It has been an intense forthnight for those sitting these exams but hopefully the experience will stand them in good stead come June. The conclusion of the mocks also means a return to the regular class timetable, thankfully!
On Saturday the Maths quiz team who had qualified from the Leinster region travelled with teacher Ms Dempsey to Cork for the All Ireland where they finished a very commendable 9th. Well done to them all; it cannot have been easy to perform having spent the previous 2 weeks doing exams.
A reminder to everyone again that the All Ireland Inter Schools Hunter Trials take place on Saturday next in Bagenalstown with an extraordinary amount of work having already been put in by the committee. Hopefully weather and all other imponderables will co-operate to make the day a great success.
