Information for Parents/Guardians and Students from the HSE and DES in advance of students return to school.
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The DES & HSE have this evening shared the resources below and requested that we bring them to your attention for discussion with your son. I also attach a link to the letter we received from Ms Norma Foley for your information. Download the full content of the letter by clicking here.
We have been asked to share the following links to resources with you. We know there are many resources and that they add to the information we have already shared. Over the weekend we will publish a simple one page flyer that will try to distill all of this information into a usable format for you and your son.
- Video for parents with key information on supporting children to return to school available here
- Fliers for parents – these are found below but are also available for
download. The HSE has prepared material on recognising symptoms which you can download here, which complements the material from the Department on returning to school. This is available here
- Age-appropriate videos for children and young people at different stages. Videos for post-primary students are available here.
- Resources in a wide range of languages. We enjoy diversity among our student and parent community. To support these parents, the DES have translated guidance for parents at gov.ie/backtoschool. You can view these Back to School videos in Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Cantonese, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, English, French, Georgian, Irish, Italian, Hungarian, Kurdish Sorani, Latvian, Lingala, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Ukranian and Yoruba. Click here to watch the videos.
- Finally, the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS) has developed webinars and resources to support the wellbeing of school communities, which are all available at here.
