It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Fr Pat Codd OSA. He celebrated his 90th Birthday with us in April 2017 and is photographed with his grand nephew Billy Wickham cutting his cake. A past pupil of Good Counsel, Fr Codd had been an active member of the Augustinian community here in the College for many years and his generous contribution to the life of our school will be missed greatly.
Fr Pat’s remains will be brought to the College church at 5:30pm on Wednesday September 11th.
Funeral mass on Thursday September 12th at 3pm in the College church with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
As a mark of respect to Fr Codd, his loving family, the Augustinian community and his many friends, the College will close at 2:10pm on Thursday. This will allow staff members and students alike the opportunity pay their respects to Fr Codd.
The following should be noted by parents:
- We kindly ask that parents make arrangements to collect their son at 2:10pm from the Apex car park as there will be no access to the College grounds. Buses will not leave until the normal time of 4:10pm.
- Class 1JR, will complete their induction in John F Kennedy Arboretum as planned and will be back for collection at the Apex or for buses at the normal time of 4pm.
- Please ensure your son has a packed lunch as he will have 3 classes in the morning with a half an hour break and then 4 classes until 2:10pm. The dining room will not be open for food.
- Evening study from 4pm to 6pm is cancelled on Thursday.
