Augustinian Schools Trust 3rd Level Bursary

Four awards of €2,000 each

Our Trustees, the Augustinian Schools Trust, in conjunction with the College established a Selection Panel to award FOUR bursaries to 6th year students from 2020/21 applying to University or Institutes of Technology in 2021/22.

The awards, generously funded by the Augustinian Schools Trust, are to the value of €2,000 each.

The Selection Panel reviewed and evaluated the merits of each of the 37 applications received using several criteria, including:

• the interest, ability, and potential of the applicant to study their chosen field.
• the existence and severity of any disadvantages or barriers which may impact on the applicant’s potential to pursue further study.
• the applicant’s motivation and commitment to engage fully with the 3rd level course of their choice.
• the quality of the applicant’s personal statement.

It was noted that the quality of  applications, expressions of purpose and use of the bursary from our students were of the highest standard in all cases.  If we had bursaries available for all student applications they would have each warranted an award.

The four recipients of the Augustinian Schools Trust Bursary are:

1. Sam Wallace, Ramsgrange
2. Alex Hughes, Glenmore
3. Oísin Kehoe, Ryleen
4. Conor Cummins, Hewittsland
