Recently, our 1st Years gathered in the church to acknowledge the completion of their first exams in Good Counsel College. It was a milestone to be marked and reflected on. Tutors took the opportunity to recognise academic achievement and to complement the boys for the effort made by all.
Two boys in each class were presented with awards for their academic achievement. Congratulations to the following.
- Joey Tobin, Liam Kenneally 1A,
- Ruairí O’ Dwyer, Seán Furlong 1B,
- Lucas O’Leary, Barry Foley 1C,
- Seamus Rohan, Oisín Murphy 1D,
- Fabien Jacqueline, Oisín Roche 1E.
We also took the opportunity to celebrate boys who stood out for other reasons. Tutors chose a student from each class they wanted to recognise for their positive contribution to their class. By all accounts, this was a difficult decision. The boys were selected for reasons such as their work ethic, positivity, kindness, and consideration, all of which underpin our values of Unity, Truth & Love. (Unitas, Veritas, Caritas) Congratulations to the boys who were presented with their “Spirit of the Class” award. The recipients were.
- Jack McCormack 1A,
- Mikey White 1B,
- Thomas Reville 1C,
- Eimatas Cejauskas 1D,
- Jack Cullen 1E.
Well done to each of our 1st Years, who have settled in so well and are already making such a positive contribution to the college. This has been thanks to the great work being done by Ms Cushen as Year Head, the boys Class Tutors, Ms French (1A), Ms Stafford (1B), Mr Kehoe (1C), Mr Kehoe (1D) , Mr Coffey (1E), each of our UNITAS Leaders and your sons class teachers.
We hope the boys and parents/guardians enjoy the mid-term break and our 1st Years return ready to make a big effort for the final 13 weeks of this school year.
