On Saturday, November 12th, the annual school Open Day for 6th class primary students and their parents/guardians takes place. Starting at 10am and running until approximately 1.00pm, the Open Day provides an opportunity for prospective students and parents to see the school campus and facilities and to ask questions of the many staff who will be present on the day. It is not a registration day but application forms for information on registration will be available. Light refreshments will be served throughout the morning.

Each of the 3 Transition Year groups took part in Matrix Training days during the past week, experiencing lots of interesting mental challenges and learning useful memory techniques. Next week being annual science week, there will be a number of initiatives taking place in the school to mark the occasion including a 1st year science quiz on Tuesday and a series of workshops the following Monday. There are also 2 teams of 6th year students taking part in the Irish Science Teachers’ Association quiz in WIT on Thursday evening next and we wish them the best of luck.
Our Senior hurlers had their first league outing of the year against St Kierans on Thursday and were well beaten by a much stronger home side. Hopefully with a committed effort from now on, the gap can be bridged should we meet the same opposition later on in the championship.
